The Magistrate Court handles small claims cases in amounts less than $15,000.00 as well as first appearance hearings, probable cause hearings, pre-warrants hearings, search warrants, weddings, good behavior bonds, assisting with temporary protective orders, domestic violence hearings, deposit account fraud and county ordinance violations.
In July of 2000 the Georgia Legislature extended magistrate court jurisdiction to include criminal trespass, underage consumption of alcohol, theft by shoplifting in an unincorporated area, and possession of marijuana-less than an ounce.
The Magistrate Court operates 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. Please take the time to browse our site.
