| Created on December 11, 1858, Banks County was named after Richard Banks, a Gainesville physician and surgeon. The Superior Court, located at 144 Yonah-Homer Rd, Homer, presides over jury trials, rules on evidence, hears motions, and renders verdicts in bench trials. Each Superior Court Judge is a constitutional officer elected to four-year terms of office.
